“I’ve been retired for some years now, and one morning realized just how small an accident it would take for me to end up homeless and on the street. I have few if any survival skills to my knowledge, and the idea of dealing with the enormity of homelessness led me to volunteer with SideWalk. I do not have much knowledge as to how to actually get the homeless housed, but have found that there are many working for this organization who DO know, and I wanted to be associated with this. So I am pleased to only provide understanding, empathy, perhaps a little well-targeted humor and the best damned cup of coffee I can offer.”
